Kids Photography Summer Camp
Our program sparks curiosity, boosts confidence and builds friendships through the art of photography. Kids, ages 9-13, will learn about their cameras, composition, how to take great photos and get an introduction to editing. Camp takes place at our Cudahy studio where we will do activities such as playing with lighting, posing and designing sets. We will also get out of the studio for photo walks to a nearby park. At the end of the week, campers will put on a photo shoot with the set that they designed. Scroll down for more information.
Day Camp Philosophy
At Heather Fradkin Photography Camp, we believe that every child has an inner artist waiting to be discovered. We strive to build confidence, photography skills and the imagination. Each child is uniquely creative and we help them share that with family and friends through photography.

What if my child gets ill at camp?
If your child becomes ill or is injured while at camp we will notify a parent/guardian. Parents will not receive a call every time a band aid or ice pack are given. Staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and will assess an injury to determine if a parent should be called. If your child is sick, with a fever of any sort, please do not bring them to camp until the fever is gone for 24 hours.
If your child does experience an injury while at camp and requires more than a basic first aid, our staff will take the following steps:
- Paramedics will be called to handle the emergency.
- Parent/guardian will be contacted. If the parent/guardian is not able to be reached, the emergency contact will be called.
- If the child requires further medical attention once the paramedics have arrived the child will be transported t, via ambulance, to the nearest emergency room.
Camper Demographics
Our camp is limited to 10 campers each week. This allows for 1 on 1 attention and both small and large group work.
Camp is open for kids between the ages of 9 and 13.
Supervision and Staff
Staff to camper ratio: 1 to 10
Camp will be run by Heather Fradkin. She is the owner of Heather Fradkin Photography, a photographer and teacher of photography. Heather has taught photography classes to both kids and adults through some of the local City Recreation Departments. She loves to encourage her students to think creatively and look at the world around them from different perspectives! She is also a mom of three small children with 2 dogs and a cat at home. She is very excited to see what creative ideas the campers come up with this summer!
Weather
Camp is held rain or shine as campers will largely be indoors.
Medication Administration
Medications will not be administered during camp. Please make arrangements to administer medications at home before or after the camp day.
